The Ember Big Band Show

in aid of Princess Alice Hospice

The Ember Big Band is based in Elmbridge, Surrey. They’ll be playing numbers from movies and musical theatre, ‘Rat Pack’, Glenn Miller Classics and contemporary Latin and funk. They have over 20 musicians including alto tenor and baritone saxophones, trumpets, trombones, rhythm and bass guitar, piano and of course drums. They are complemented by three impressive vocalists and dancers from Impact Dance Studios. The band is led by the trombonist and composer, Bill Geldard, one of Britain’s best-known trombonists and arrangers.

Bill has played with the Ted Heath and John Dankworth orchestras, toured with Frank Sinatra, Liza Minnelli, Tony Bennett and Sammy Davis Jr, performed with Henry Mancini at  “The Pink Panther” premiere in Switzerland and on the sound track of the first Bond film, “Dr. No”.
